Jynx Piercing & Fine Jewellery – New Milton, Hampshire
Jynx Piercing & Fine Jewellery is a modern, dedicated piercing studio located in New Milton (conveniently between Bournemouth and Southampton). Opened in 2023, our studio is piercing-only – meaning we focus 100% on body piercing and fine jewellery (no tattoos or gimmicks, just expert piercing services). Here’s why Jynx has quickly become a top choice in the Hampshire piercing scene:

-
Spotless, APP-Standard Studio: Jynx was built from the ground up with cleanliness and safety in mind. We adhere to the highest hygiene standards set by the UKAPP (United Kingdom Association of Professional Piercers) – including using only single-use, sterile piercing needles (no piercing guns, ever. Our bright, welcoming studio is fully licensed and council-inspected, with contactless hand sanitizing stations at the entrance and a pristine piercing room that “screams professionalism and hygiene” (as one client put it). Every surface is cleaned rigorously, and we sterilize all equipment in a hospital-grade autoclave on site (more on our sterilization process below!).
-
Expert, Caring Piercers: Our head piercer Lou and team are not only experienced (apprentice-trained and piercing for many years), but also incredibly patient and friendly. We genuinely care about each client and take time to ensure you feel comfortable and informed. Whether you’re a bit nervous or full of questions, we’ve got you – we’ll talk you through the process, help plan your jewellery, and never rush you. As one recent client review noted: “Lou marked up the perfect position and talked me through it before and during. Aftercare advice was given… Highly recommended!” – Annie Dean, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Google review. We pride ourselves on this personal touch. It’s not just about getting a piercing; it’s about having a wonderful experience from start to finish.
-
APP-Approved Jewellery (Titanium & Gold): Unlike some places that might use mystery metal or low-grade steel, Jynx uses only implant-grade and hypoallergenic jewellery for all initial piercings. Specifically, our jewellery is either ASTM F-136 implant-grade titanium or solid 14k/18k gold, per APP standards Implant-grade titanium contains no nickel (so it won’t cause allergic reactions and is the same quality used in surgical implants. Our gold options are nickel-free solid gold (in yellow, rose, or white gold) for clients who want a touch of luxury. By using high-quality metals, we ensure your new piercing has the best chance of healing well with minimal irritation. (Fun fact: This is the same standard of jewellery the NHS would approve for medical implants!)
-
Fine Jewellery Selection & Ear Curation: True to our name, Jynx is also a fine jewellery boutique. We curate and sell gorgeous pieces from renowned brands like Junipurr, BVLA, Anatometal, and more, both in our studio and via our online store. This means you have a huge selection of stylish ends, studs, and rings to choose from for your piercings, from elegant gold designs to genuine gemstones. We love working with clients to design custom ear curations (think multiple coordinated ear piercings with beautiful matching jewellery). Our piercers are essentially ear curators who can help plan the perfect arrangement of helix, tragus, conch, lobe, etc., that suits your anatomy and aesthetic. If you’re not sure what you want, we’ll happily consult and make suggestions. Jewellery isn’t just an afterthought for us – it’s half the fun! And because we’re jewellery specialists, you can trust that everything we put in your body is safe, premium quality and built to last.
-
Family-Friendly Atmosphere: At Jynx, everyone is welcome. We have children of our own, and we’re proud to be one of the most kid-friendly piercing studios around. Some piercing shops can feel intimidating or even turn away families with kids, not us. We have a dedicated children’s ear piercing service (lobes from age 8+ with a parent present), and we make sure our young clients feel comfortable, often using distraction techniques and a calm, upbeat approach to keep it a positive experience. Our waiting area even has a cozy corner with some kid’s books and coloring sheets, so little ones (or their siblings) feel at ease. Many parents in Hampshire have told us they appreciated finding a clean, caring studio that understands kids. We believe getting your ears pierced can be a great memory at any age, so we go out of our way to create a gentle, friendly vibe for all ages.
-
Ongoing Support & Aftercare: Our service doesn’t end once you walk out with a new piercing. We provide detailed aftercare instructions both verbally and in a take-home leaflet (covering how to clean your piercing, what to avoid, and signs of healing vs. trouble). We also stock aftercare products in studio (like sterile saline solution, healing swabs, etc.) for your convenience. If you ever have a question or concern during healing, you can message or visit us and we’ll gladly help – be it a quick check, a jewellery downsize once swelling goes down, or just reassurance. Our philosophy is that every piercing we do is attached to a person – and we truly want you to heal well and love your piercing. This caring approach shows in our reviews: “Aftercare advice was given to take away… I’ve recommended Jynx to every single person… I will continue to shout about them from the roof tops!!” – Sophie Clarke, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ review (nose piercing).

Piercings offered: At Jynx, we offer all major types of piercings. This includes the classics like earlobes (standard lobe and upper lobe), all sorts of ear cartilage piercings (helix, forward helix, conch, tragus, daith, rook, snug, you name it!), facial piercings such as nostril piercings, septum, eyebrow, lip and philtrum/Medusa, oral piercings (tongue), body piercings like navel (belly button) and nipple, and even intimate piercings in certain cases (with appropriate consultations). Essentially, whether you want a simple pair of stud earrings or something more adventurous, our experienced piercers can likely do it (within safe and ethical limits). We’re happy to advise on any piercing idea you have and will be honest about what your anatomy can accommodate.
Pricing: We believe in transparent and fair pricing – no hidden fees. All our piercing prices include the jewellery and aftercare kit. As mentioned, basic earlobe piercings start at £30 (for one) or £50 for a pair, most cartilage or nose piercings are around £35–£40, and more complex piercings (or pairs) cost a bit more. (Check our Piercing Pricing page for the full menu.) We may occasionally run specials or bundle deals, but we never sacrifice quality for price. Note: we require a small £5 booking deposit which goes toward your piercing – this is just to ensure commitment and scheduling, a common practice among reputable studios.
What Makes Jynx Different? (Recap)

It’s no surprise that Jynx Piercing & Fine Jewellery has 5-star ratings across the board and a rapidly growing loyal client base in Hampshire. We’re incredibly grateful for the community’s support and aim to continue setting the bar for safe, stylish piercings in the area.
(Disclosure: Yes, we are Jynx 😄 – of course we’re proud to list ourselves among the best! But don’t just take our word for it; the client testimonials and industry standards cited speak for themselves. Next, we’ll highlight a couple of other studios we respect in our region.)
Nearby Studios We Also Respect
We believe in lifting up quality piercers across Hampshire. Here are a few others you can trust:
Sisters of Chaos – Southsea
If you’re based near Southampton, Sisters of Chaos is a fantastic studio to check out. Located at 127 Albert Rd, Southsea, Portsmouth, PO5 2SQ, this independent shop is a rising name in Hampshire’s body piercing scene. Run by a team of experienced piercers and artists, Sisters of Chaos prides itself on being a female-owned, body-positive, and inclusive space.
-
Welcoming & Inclusive: The environment at Sisters of Chaos is known for being warm, supportive, and safe. They welcome clients of all identities and backgrounds, and aim to make every person feel seen, heard, and respected.
-
Sterile Techniques & Clean Environment: They maintain high hygiene standards and perform all piercings using sterile, single-use needles. Their piercing room is fully equipped and follows strict cleanliness protocols. Their website and social channels also show their piercing setup, tools, and jewellery options for transparency.
-
Diverse Piercing Services: Sisters of Chaos offers all common piercings and some more advanced services, depending on anatomy and consultation. You can book a variety of services, from earlobes and nostrils to curated ear projects.
-
Jewellery Quality & Aesthetic: They offer stylish and safe jewellery, including high-polish titanium and solid gold options. While not exclusively a fine jewellery boutique, their selection is thoughtful and curated with safety and aesthetics in mind.
-
Appointments & Accessibility: Their booking system is straightforward, and they’re responsive on social media. They often share client stories, healed photos, and info about healing and aftercare.
Pierced by Elmo – Winchester
For those up in north/central Hampshire, Pierced by Elmo in Winchester is worth mentioning. This is a bit different, it’s essentially a one-man piercing operation run by an experienced piercer who operates out of Moonlight Tattoo in Winchester. “Elmo” (real name not actually Elmo! 😅) has been piercing since 2013 and has become a well-established name in Winchester’s piercing scene, What makes Pierced by Elmo stand out:
-
Personalized Service: Being a single piercer venture, you get the same piercer every time with Elmo – which many clients love for consistency and trust. He is known for a friendly, welcoming approach for all ages and offers all piercing services from “first lobes to below-the-belt intimates. So whether you’re a parent taking your child for ear piercings or an adult wanting something advanced, he can accommodate (with proper age policies and professionalism).
-
Transparent Pricing: Pierced by Elmo has very straightforward, affordable pricing. For example, ear lobes are £25 for one or £35 for a pair (which is quite competitive) A nostril piercing is around £35, helix £30, etc. He even sometimes runs a special where if you get one piercing, you can get a second for just £10 extra (even split with a friend) That’s a great deal for those looking to get multiple piercings in one go. Despite lower prices, he still uses proper techniques and sterile equipment – he’s well-reviewed for quality.
-
All Ages & Friendly Vibe: Elmo explicitly states he wants to create a “friendly and welcoming experience for all ages”. Standard lobe piercings start from age 8 (with parental consent, of course) – showing he’s experienced with kids too. Clients often comment that he’s patient and puts them at ease, chatting through any nerves. The studio (inside Moonlight Tattoo) is clean and professional. It’s basically the go-to piercing spot in the Winchester area, run by someone truly passionate about piercing (which is always a good sign!).
If you’re near Winchester, Pierced by Elmo is a top pick. You’ll get a personable, knowledgeable piercer with over a decade of experience. Just note that since it’s essentially one piercer, you’ll likely need an appointment (walk-in availability may be limited). But many people prefer that boutique, one-on-one experience. We respect what Elmo is doing up there – keeping the focus on safe, affordable piercing in a friendly setting.
(Of course, there are a few other piercing options around Hampshire – for example, some longstanding tattoo studios in Portsmouth or Basingstoke offer piercing. Just be sure wherever you go follows the safety points we outline below. In our opinion, the studios above are among the best for a dedicated, safe piercing experience in this region.)
Understanding Jewellery Materials (Mini Table)
One big factor that separates a great piercing studio from a mediocre one is the type of jewellery materials they use for fresh piercings. Here’s a quick comparison of common piercing jewellery materials, their nickel content (nickel being a common allergen, and relative price range:
|
Jewellery Material |
Nickel Content |
Relative Price & Use |
|
Implant-Grade Titanium (ASTM F-136) |
0% – Nickel-free (completely hypoallergenic) |
££ (Moderate) – Ideal for new piercings. Strong, light, and highly biocompatible (used in implants). Our top recommendation for most clients. |
|
14ct or 18ct Solid Gold |
0% (if genuine & nickel-free alloy) |
£££ (Higher) – Great for new or healed piercings if solid (not plated). We use only nickel-free gold. Adds luxury and comes in yellow, rose, or white gold. |
|
Niobium |
0% (pure element) |
£££ (Higher) – Another hypoallergenic metal like titanium. Softer and used less commonly, but excellent for sensitive folks. Often seen in fancy coloured Jewellery. |
|
Surgical Stainless Steel (316L or similar) |
Contains some nickel (low-release if high-grade) |
£ (Budget) – Acceptable only if certified (e.g., ASTM F-138). Cheaper initial Jewellery at some shops. However, even high-grade steel can leach trace nickel over time, so not our first choice for new piercings. Might cause issues in very nickel-sensitive people. |
|
“Mystery Metal”/Cheap Alloy |
Unknown, often high nickel 🤢 |
£ (Cheap) – Found in low-quality Jewellery (fashion earrings, etc.). Not safe for fresh piercings Can trigger allergic reactions, discolour skin, or even cause infection. Avoid for new piercings – upgrade to titanium or gold. |
Takeaway: The safest materials for initial piercings are implant-grade titanium or solid 14ct/18ct gold These metals won’t react with your body or leach nickel. High-end studios (like us and those we listed) will exclusively use these. Materials like surgical steel can be okay in healed piercings or in a pinch, but be wary: if a place is using mystery metal or “steel” with no further specification, that’s a red flag. It’s worth paying a bit more for quality jewellery that won’t jeopardize your health. Your body will thank you!
Our Commitment to Safety & Sterilization (Proof)
At Jynx, we use a medical-grade autoclave (steam sterilizer) for all tools – the same level of sterilization you’d expect in a hospital. Every instrument is sealed in a pouch and autoclaved, ensuring it’s free of any bacteria, viruses, or pathogens before touching your skin.
Nothing is more important in piercing than sterilization and hygiene. This is something we are absolutely fanatic about. Here’s an inside look at how we keep things sterile and safe at Jynx (and what you should expect at any reputable studio):
-
Autoclave Sterilization: We run a Class B medical autoclave on site for all reusable tools (like forceps, insertion tapers, etc.). An autoclave uses high-pressure saturated steam at ~134°C to destroy all forms of bacteria, viruses, and spores Each tool is individually packaged in a sterile pouch with an indicator strip and then autoclaved through a complete cycle. We keep logs/printouts of each cycle as proof. The autoclave is regularly spore-tested by an independent lab to verify it’s killing even the hardiest microbes (spore testing involves running vials of extremely resistant bacterial spores through a cycle and then seeing if any survived – our tests consistently pass ✅). In short, if it’s not autoclaved, it’s not touching you! This level of sterilization meets or exceeds hospital standards and is non-negotiable for all professional piercing studios.
-
Single-Use Needles & Equipment: We only use brand new, single-use needle blades for piercings – opened fresh and disposed of in a sharps container immediately after use Needles are never reused. The same goes for things like cork receiving tubes, marking q-tips, gloves, gauze, etc. It’s all one-and-done. This eliminates any chance of cross-contamination between clients. (We also never use piercing guns – those cannot be fully sterilized and can cause tissue trauma Our needle method is far safer and gentler.)
-
Sterile Field & Technique: Our piercers set up a sterile field for every procedure. This includes using disposable protective barriers on surfaces, wearing fresh sterile gloves, and only handling sterilized instruments. We clean the client’s skin with surgical antiseptic before piercing, and use proper aseptic technique throughout. Essentially, we treat it with the same caution as minor surgery. The result? Incredibly low infection rates. Clients often comment on how impressively clean our process looks – and that peace of mind is exactly what you deserve when getting a piercing.
-
Clean Studio Environment: Beyond the immediate piercing tools, we keep the entire studio spotless. We perform hospital-grade disinfection of chairs, counters, and beds between clients (using medical surface disinfectants). The studio floors are cleaned daily. We have a separate sterilization room in the back (outfitted with an ultrasonic cleaner, our autoclave, and drying racks) – keeping any biohazard processing away from the main client areas. When you walk in, you might notice it even smells clean (that lovely sterile smell Sophie mentioned in her review!). A clean environment greatly reduces risk of any complications.
By following these protocols, we aim to virtually eliminate the risk of infections or diseases. You can relax knowing that at Jynx (and similarly diligent studios), your piercing is done in a clean, sterile, safe manner. As the Enigma Piercing studio in the US aptly states, “Every tool is cleaned, packaged, and run through a complete sterilization cycle to meet or exceed industry health standards. That’s exactly the standard we live by. Your health is our top priority.
Quality Results & Jewellery (Proof in Pictures)
Healed helix piercings styled with high-quality jewellery. Using implant-grade metal and proper techniques leads to beautiful results and happy ears (no redness or irritation on this well-healed ear!).
We believe the results speak for themselves. When you get pierced in a safe environment with excellent jewellery, your piercing not only heals better but also looks better. For instance, take a look at the image above: a pair of healed helix cartilage piercings adorned with solid gold rings. The skin is healthy and calm, showcasing how a well-done piercing can become a beautiful part of your body.
At Jynx, we love documenting before-and-after stories of our clients’ piercings. We have tons of healed photos in our portfolio and Instagram feed – from glowing healed nose piercings to curated ears loaded with sparkling gold. These serve as “proof” of our quality: minimal scarring, piercings sitting at flattering angles, and clients confidently showing them off.
A few things we do that contribute to great outcomes:
-
Proper Placement & Technique: Our piercers take the time to mark the perfect spot and double-check placement before piercing. We consider your anatomy and jewellery choice to position the piercing for both aesthetics and ease of healing. During the piercing, we use gentle technique and precise tools (like receiving tubes or forceps when needed) to make sure the needle goes through cleanly at the right depth and angle. This results in a piercing that sits well and heals correctly (no weird angles or excessive trauma). Many clients remark on how quick and smooth the actual piercing was – that’s our expertise at work.
-
High Quality Jewellery from the Start: As mentioned, we outfit your new piercing with only the best jewellery. This means you won’t have, say, a nostril piercing with a base metal stud that turns green or causes a reaction. Instead, you might leave with a beautiful titanium flat-back stud with a CZ gem, or an implant-grade hoop – something that is biocompatible and also looks great. Quality jewellery also tends to have super-smooth finishing (no rough edges) and secure threading, which prevents irritation and downsides like lost jewellery. Our clients often upgrade to even fancier pieces once healed, but they start with something excellent on day one. For example, one popular piece for healed piercings is the Junipurr “Triple Marquise Fan” end – a 14k gold decorative end with three marquise-cut stones. It’s a stunner for an upper ear or cartilage piercing. (Yes, we carry it! See our online store). When you invest in good jewellery, your piercing can become a permanent accessory you love.
-
Attention to Aftercare: The first few weeks after a piercing are crucial. We make sure you leave knowing exactly how to care for it: typically cleaning gently twice a day with sterile saline, avoiding twisting or swapping the jewellery, and keeping an eye out for any issues. We even schedule free check-ups or downsizing appointments (for piercings like cartilage or tongue that may need a shorter bar once swelling goes down). By staying involved in the healing process, we help ensure your piercing settles in perfectly. If any bump or irritation does arise, we’ll troubleshoot it with you. This hands-on aftercare support is a big factor in our high success rate.
In short, our piercings heal clean and our clients are happy – and we have the photos and reviews to prove it! We encourage anyone considering a piercing in Hampshire to check out portfolios or healed results from whichever studio you choose. It’s the best indicator of their work quality. At Jynx, we’re incredibly proud of the beautiful piercings we’ve done that became even more beautiful once healed.
Oh, and did we mention, you can also shop our jewellery online? If you’re a jewellery lover, our website (jynxbodyjewellery.co.uk) features an online store where you can browse and purchase many of the same gorgeous pieces we stock in-house. For instance, the Bella Five Marquis Threadless end (mentioned above) is available for order in yellow, white, or rose gold.

An investment piece that can elevate any piercing. We ship nationwide. So even if you can’t visit us in person, you can still snag some high-end body jewellery for your collection 😎.
Real Client Testimonials ⭐
We believe honest feedback from real clients speaks volumes. Here are a couple of recent testimonials from our Google reviews:
“Wonderful experience at Jynx. Lou was super friendly and knowledgeable. She talked me through all the jewellery options and was very patient as I tried to decide. The piercing was done quickly after Lou marked up the perfect position and talked me through it both before and during. Aftercare advice was given to take away with me and Lou even wrote down the details of my jewellery for future reference. Highly recommended! Thanks so much again ❤️”
– Annie Dean (5-star Google Review, Sept 2025)
“I had my nose pierced a few weeks ago and had the most amazing experience. Firstly the studio is SO lovely and clean and smells totally sterile. You are greeted by Fred and made to feel so comfortable from the get go. They’ve got the best selection of beautiful jewellery to suit everyone’s needs and style. Lou is just incredible. She is calm & relaxed whilst you make your decision. She does not rush you in any way, shape or form. She will talk you through all decisions and advise you on what she thinks would work professionally. The piercing was easy peasy and over in seconds. An amazing aftercare advice sheet is handed over and all the aftercare is available to purchase there. I’ve recommended Jynx to every single person that I’ve spoken to and I will continue to shout about them from the roof tops!! Thank you Jynx, can’t wait for my next piercing! x”
– Sophie Clarke (5-star Google Review, Oct 2025)

Common themes you’ll notice: our studio cleanliness, our friendliness and patience, the great jewellery selection, and thorough aftercare. We’re thrilled to have such appreciative clients and reviews – it truly makes our job rewarding and keeps us striving to be the best.
If you’re reading this and have visited us before, thank you for supporting a local small business! And if you’re a new client considering a visit, we hope to provide you with the same level of care and excellence these reviewers experienced.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
Q: How do I book an appointment at Jynx Piercing?
A: Booking is easy, you can use our online booking portal on our website (click the “Book Now” button) to see available times and reserve your slot. A small £5 deposit is required to secure the booking (this goes toward your piercing). Alternatively, you can call or visit us in person to schedule. We do accept walk-ins when possible, but we tend to get busy, so booking ahead is recommended to guarantee you’ll be seen without waiting. For special requests or group bookings, feel free to contact us directly.
Q: Does getting a piercing hurt?
A: Pain is very subjective, but most people find the anticipation is worse than the actual piercing! Our piercers are highly skilled, so the procedure is quick and precise – usually just a brief pinch or pressure and it’s over. Earlobes and nose piercings, for example, are typically felt as a sharp pinch that lasts a split-second. Cartilage piercings can be a bit more intense than lobes, but still very manageable (perhaps a quick sting and some warmth or throbbing after). We use techniques like having you take a deep breath, and we pierce on the exhale to minimize the sensation. Clients often say, “That’s it? It was so fast!” Any soreness afterward is usually mild and can be managed with a cool compress and proper aftercare. We’d rate most piercing pain as 2–4 out of 10. Of course, more sensitive areas (like nipples or intimate piercings) might be a bit higher on the pain scale, but those are over quickly too. Remember, everyone’s pain tolerance is different – but we’ll do our best to make you comfortable regardless!
Q: What is the minimum age for piercings? Do you pierce kids?
A: We do offer children’s ear piercings and are a kid-friendly studio! For lobes, our minimum age is 8 years old with a parent or legal guardian present (and we’ll need proof of age and guardian consent). We find under-8s typically aren’t ready, so we stick to 8+ for earlobes, For cartilage piercings (helix, etc.) and nose piercings, we generally require the client to be 14 or 16+ (depending on the piercing) with a parent present if under 18 For example, we do nostrils at 14+ with parental consent. Tongue or navel piercings we usually ask for 16+ with consent. Nipple and any intimate piercings are strictly 18+ (no exceptions, that’s the law and common sense). We always follow ID requirements, so minors will need a birth certificate or passport + parent’s ID, etc., to prove guardianship. If you’re a parent considering bringing your child for ear piercing, rest assured we take a very gentle approach to make it a positive experience. And if you’re 16–17 wanting, say, a septum or industrial piercing, just bring mum/dad along and we’ll happily take care of you (and answer their questions too!). Our full age policy is available on our site, or you can contact us to ask about a specific piercing and age.
Q: How should I care for my new piercing?
A: We provide detailed aftercare instructions for every client, but the basics are: keep it clean, but don’t overdo it. We recommend cleaning the piercing twice daily with a sterile saline solution (we provide this or you can use a store-bought wound wash saline). Gently soak or spray around the piercing to rinse away any crusties, then pat dry with a clean paper towel. Do not use alcohol, peroxide, or strong antiseptics, those can irritate the piercing. Avoid touching the piercing with dirty hands and do not twist/turn the jewellery – the old “rotate it” advice is outdated and can hinder healing. Leave the jewellery in place for the full initial healing period (don’t swap it out too soon, even if it feels healed). Be careful to keep hair, phone, masks, etc., from snagging on new piercings. And absolutely avoid swimming in lakes/oceans or submerging in hot tubs for a few weeks (to prevent bacteria exposure). For oral piercings, use an alcohol-free mouth rinse after eating. Each piercing has its own healing timeline, we’ll give you a printed aftercare sheet specific to yours. If you notice anything odd (excessive swelling, pus, a bump, etc.), give us a call, we can often help troubleshoot and it’s usually minor. You can find more tips on our [Piercing Aftercare] page as well. Following the aftercare diligently is the key to a happy, healed piercing!
Q: Do you use piercing guns for ear piercings?
A: No – never! We only use single-use, hollow needles for all piercings, including ear lobes. Piercing guns (the kind used at mall kiosks) cannot be properly sterilized and the APP (Association of Professional Piercers) explicitly warns against them. Guns force a blunt earring through tissue, which causes more trauma to the flesh and increases infection risk. In contrast, our needle technique is far safer and gentler: a very sharp needle creates a clean incision, which heals faster. We dispose of the needle immediately, eliminating any contamination risk. Even for children’s ear piercings, we use needles – we find most kids actually handle it better than the gun (it’s super quick and our calming approach helps). So, rest assured, you will not see any piercing guns at Jynx. It’s all needles, done the right way.
Q: Can I bring my own jewellery to use for a new piercing?
A: We prefer you to use our implant-grade jewellery for initial piercings, and here’s why: we know our jewellery’s material composition and sterility, but we don’t know if outside jewellery is truly suitable. Jewellery for new piercings needs to be top quality (implant-grade metal, appropriate style/size) and must be sterilized in an autoclave. If you happen to have a high-quality piece you want us to use, bring it by ahead of time so we can assess it. It must be ASTM F-136 titanium or solid 14ct+ gold, in new/good condition, and able to be autoclaved. We’ve found that many “bring your own” pieces people purchase online turn out to be mystery metal or not the right fit, unfortunately. For your safety, we’ll politely decline to use anything questionable. Additionally, please note that if you insist on using your own jewellery, we cannot take responsibility for any issues (like metal reactions or improper healing) that stem from that jewellery Our strong recommendation is to use the jewellery we provide for your initial piercing, we have tons of beautiful options included in the price, so you’re not losing out. You can always switch to your piece later once you’re fully healed (we can even help install it then). So in summary: yes, you can ask, but in most cases we’ll stick with our vetted jewellery for the best outcome.
Q: What piercings do you offer and how do I choose?
A: We offer all common piercings (and some uncommon ones too!). This includes ear piercings (lobes, helix, forward helix, conch, tragus, daith, rook, snug, industrial), facial piercings (nostril, septum, eyebrow, bridge, lip/labret, Monroe, philtrum/Medusa), oral piercings (tongue, smiley), body piercings (navel, nipple), and select genital/intimate piercings. If you’re not sure what you want, think about the look you’re going for or bring inspiration photos, we’re happy to consult. For example, if you love the stacked lobe and multiple cartilage look, we can plan an ear project and do it in steps (no need to do everything at once). If your ears are already loaded and you want something new, maybe a nose piercing or a snug could be cool. We’ll also examine your anatomy to see what will work. Not everyone can get every piercing; e.g., some people don’t have a suited anatomy for an industrial or a navel, and we’ll tell you upfront. Our piercers are great at suggesting piercings that complement your anatomy and existing piercings. Ultimately, the choice is yours – we’re just here to safely make it a reality and ensure it looks awesome on you!
