In-House Tattoo Appointments Are Coming to Jynx in New Milton

We’re pleased to announce that in-house tattooing will soon be available at Jynx Piercing & Fine Jewellery in New Milton.

Although Jynx is now known locally for professional piercing and fine body jewellery, tattooing has always been part of our story. Before opening in New Milton, we owned and ran a tattoo studio in Bournemouth for four years, working alongside a range of experienced artists and building a strong understanding of what makes a tattoo studio feel professional, safe, creative and client-focused.

Now, we’re bringing that experience back into Jynx with a carefully selected resident tattoo artist.

Custom Tattooing in New Milton

Our tattoo service will be built around quality rather than volume. Instead of offering a rushed, walk-in style approach, appointments will be consultation-led, giving each client the time to discuss their idea properly, understand what will work best, and make confident decisions before booking.

Our resident artist will specialise in:

  • Colour realism

  • Polynesian tattooing

  • Geometric designs

  • Black and grey work

  • Fine Line

These styles all require different strengths. Colour realism needs depth, contrast and strong colour saturation. Polynesian tattooing needs flow, structure and respect for the way the design moves with the body. Geometric work needs accuracy, balance and clean linework. Black and grey tattooing needs smooth shading, strong composition and an understanding of how contrast will settle over time.

That is why choosing the right artist matters.

Serving New Milton, Lymington, Christchurch, Brockenhurst, Bournemouth and Beyond

Based on Station Road in New Milton, Jynx is well placed for clients across the New Forest and surrounding areas. We welcome tattoo enquiries from New Milton, Lymington, Christchurch, Brockenhurst, Highcliffe, Bournemouth, Southampton and further afield.

A good tattoo is worth travelling for. It is easy to focus on what is closest, cheapest or quickest, but a tattoo is not something you wear for a few weeks. It becomes part of you. The journey to the right artist is small compared with the years you will spend living with the result.

Whether you are travelling from Lymington for a meaningful black and grey piece, from Christchurch for geometric work, from Brockenhurst for Polynesian-style tattooing, or from Bournemouth for colour realism, the priority should always be finding an artist whose work genuinely matches your vision.

What Makes a Good Tattoo Artist?

A good tattoo artist is not simply someone who can tattoo. A good artist understands design, placement, skin, longevity and communication.

Before booking, you should be able to see consistency in their work. Their portfolio should show clean lines, smooth shading, healed results where possible, and examples of the style you are asking for. If you want colour realism, look for strong colour work. If you want geometric, look for precision. If you want Polynesian, look for flow and structure. If you want black and grey, look for smooth gradients, contrast and detail.

A good artist should also be honest. Sometimes a design needs to be larger. Sometimes a placement may not work as well as expected. Sometimes a reference image needs to be adapted so it becomes a proper tattoo rather than a copied picture. Honest advice is not there to complicate the process. It is there to protect the final result.

The best tattoos usually come from a proper conversation between the client and artist.

Why Price Should Not Be the Main Factor

Price matters, but it should never be the main reason you choose a tattoo artist.

The cheapest tattoo is only cheap on the day. If the design is rushed, poorly placed, badly executed or done in the wrong style, the real cost often comes later through regret, cover-ups, laser removal or living with something that never felt quite right.

When you book a professional tattoo, you are not only paying for the time it takes to put ink into skin. You are paying for experience, design judgment, preparation, hygiene standards, safe working practices, specialist equipment, aftercare advice and the ability to create something that will still look good years from now.

A good tattoo should feel considered from start to finish. The consultation, the design, the placement and the execution all matter.

A Professional Studio Environment

At Jynx, we have always cared about creating a clean, calm and professional studio experience. That same approach will carry through into our tattoo service.

We want clients to feel comfortable asking questions, discussing ideas and taking their time before committing. Whether it is your first tattoo or your next large piece, the experience should feel clear, honest and well-managed.

Our aim is not to be the cheapest tattoo studio in the area. Our aim is to offer thoughtful, well-planned tattooing from a trusted local studio with high standards.

From there, we can advise on the next step and arrange a consultation where needed.
